About Harrison Trinder
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Kinetic Imaging at Virginia Commonwealth University and obtained my Master's from the School of Visual Arts.
I commonly focus on 2D and 3D mixed-media animation with an emphasis on sound, using a variety of applications and tools. My overwhelming style forms through consistent clashing visual elements that lend to a slow, yet chaotic structure. Most of my work focuses on honing narratives and environments built around capturing a sense of place.
This seems to reflect back on my work with a sense of nostalgic horror, focusing less on cinematic flow and continuity and rather abstract stylization. I make things because it's what I like to do, and I am ultimately unsure why I make some of what I make. However, I aim to always have that initial emotional inspiration present, and to create something I haven't seen before.
I find inspiration in the likes of Henry Dargur, Jan Svankmajer, cults, true crime, fake crime, trees, California Raisins (53 and counting), tall buildings, lots of movies, and really anything made purely for the sake of expression.
